About Old Testament I
It can be confusing and misleading if you hear only a small part of a conversation. You can draw some very strange and inaccurate conclusions if you don’t know who was speaking to whom, what prompted the conversation, what happened after the conversation, under what environmental or other conditions the words were spoken, and so on.
Sadly, many followers of Jesus read or hear only small parts of the Old Testament without understanding who the authors and intended readers of the books were, when they were written, or what prompted them to be written.
Without this understanding, it can be easy to understand and apply snippets of the Bible to their lives in ways that God and the human writers of Scripture never intended.
This course helps put the writings in context so that further study and interpretation can be much more accurate and well-grounded. Ultimately, this course is about understanding the story of the Old Testament and how to Old Testament points to Jesus!
